Mobile available Opera 10 on ANDROID finally almost

Posted by SOS Blog s Team Friday, December 11th, 2009

Opera-logo-PNGMozilla foundation had claimed to be interested last June, Opera made it! The society has just announced the availability of the navigator Mobile Opera in version 10 on ANDROID for the producers. Available also on other platforms among which Symbian, Mobile Windows and Brew.

The interface of the browser, customizable, is identical about is the deck. These characteristics are allowed by a new technology introduced by Opera. It will give to the constructors to their clients the possibility of customising that ci in a homogeneous and quick way. Orange is a very indicated client.

This new navigator will be then in competition with the native navigator and Dolphin browser.

Precision: The complete version of Mobile Opera 10 ANDROID will not be able to be distributed in silly mode public because it is based on NDK and on specific libraries Linux. If the constructors do not make them available on to them platforms and firmwares, it will not work. That is why this version will be available only for them so that they are sure that integration works.

Firefox Fennec soon on Andro d?

Posted by SOS Blog s Team Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

fennec_logoSince Google published native Developement Kit (NDK), the interest for the platform Andro d grows even more quickly.

Some months ago, Mozilla foundation had abandoned the idea of carrying Fennec for reasons of inherent limitations to interface Popular dance and in the virtual machine Dalvik. Mike Schroepfer had declared that the integrated navigator had widely the necessary capacities.

The announcement of this NDK has the appetite to foundation Mozilla is enough to give again. It would allow them to offer Fennec on the platform Andro d with performances perfectly adjusted to the capacities of the telephone.

However, there is a back in the medal. To work in native code is not an easy thing and imposes on the developer an absolute rigour and to leave the comfort of the high layers of the system. Besides, native software asks to be adapted by material platform (for every processor, microchip). Effort of development is therefore rather consequent but in certain cases, got advantage is worth this additional investment.

To see therefore how the developers go to acceuillir this working mode.
