To reinforce its links with the developers Android, Archos has just given a helping hand to them by publishing the IPA - INTERNATIONAL PHONETIC ALPHABETS which allow to achieve the multimedia functionality of Archos 5 IT until then impossible. It is going to allow to offer new applications which require the access to these elements.

Publication comes however under a bit dry form since no material is given, only an application of demonstration illustrates this access (application of d mo, ).

At the same time, Archos makes fact public to be able to instal another BONE () on the bars 5 and 7. There also, it is to reserve for the developers.

The bar Archos 5 IT will soon have the right to different updates:

• A new version of Appslib should tumble down shortly, widely optimised
• A new firmware is also envisaged with notably:

For the moment, nothing regarding an update towards Android 2.1. Not being member of Open Handset Alliance, Archos has accesses in source when Google publishes them for the community. They confessed that the job of update will be long since for the moment nothing is really functional on this version. Archos had introduced Archos 5 IT and Archos Phone. If this last is introduced as less and less probable (we will see in MWC), ArchosFans introduces Archos7 Android.

Last September, Archos via its president, had announced the telephone for the beginning of 2010. We are there and for the moment nothing arrived. Many people waited for him in THIS of Las Vegas, in vain.

A new update of the Archos Internet Tablet is available. It is the 8th since launching what shows that Archos teams are not out of work. The list of correctives is additions am rather long. News fonctiuonnalit s of multimedia management, of the best return of videos and better support of codecs (MP4, MKV), improvement of the mail client and of the management of energy will be simply kept.

At the end of this year 2009, announcements and exits on ANDROID are legion: mobile constructors (Sony Ercisson, Geeks' Phone), producers of MID (Archos), new actors (Parrot), industrial Designers (Motorbike), etc. The extrapolation of data Admob shows that the growth of ANDROID is slow but without weakness.

These last days several apparatus were shown or announced as working under ANDROID.

Archos sees the models A5S and A5H revealed by the American authority of certification FCC. The first photos circulate therefore.
